The Sunday People claim that the investor is part of a group eyeing a takeover of Sunderland, with the Hong Kong-based group renewing their interest in the club having seen a first bid rejected.
And Sunderland fans were quick to react to the news, with many supporters concerned at YU’s link to Carson Yeung, the former St Andrews President who served time in jail for his part in a Hong Kong money laundering scandal.
