Echo readers sent in their nominations on social media – from healthcare workers to supermarket staff – to shout out someone they know who has been working hard through the months of lockdown. Here are 24 pictures of some of Sunderland’s essential workers. A big thank you for all you do.
1. Tracey Potter Davidson
Jordan Duffy: My mam Tracey Potter Davidson she's worked out in the community through all of this, despite the fact she should have been isolating herself for an underlying health condition. She in her own words said she couldn't let her service users down. My family is full of key workers care-based and NHS-based. So thank you, all of you. Photo: UGC
2. Laura Brown
Lesley-Ann Brown: My beautiful little sister, Laura Brown. She works as a night shift carer in a care home & has worked throughout the whole lockdown, even picking up extra shifts where needed, to make sure her residents are very well looked after, while putting her own health at risk! She’s amazing. Photo: UGC
