Sunderland Museum is hosting an exhibition on Sunderland: Then and Now – paintings, drawings and prints from the museum’s collection. There is also Sunderland Style: Then and Now – fashion from the 1940s to the 1970s. The show ends on Sunday.
Friends of Sunderland Museum (Fosums) will meet on Saturday, April 9, in Sunderland Museum, Burdon Road, at 2pm. Speaker will be Eric Fletcher on The Coming of the Railways in Sunderland. Visitors welcome and pay £1.

A friendly bridge club is looking for new members. The group meets on Mondays and Wednesday from 1pm to 4.30pm in the lounge of Beaumont Lodge, Toward Road. Partners are not needed. For further information, ring 597 1941.
