A social media post has been widely shared, detailing how a man and woman came across two men and a woman off Vine Place in Sunderland on Monday, July 12, with a claim the woman had been dragged into the lane.

“The woman told officers that the activity was consensual and we were satisfied that no criminal offences had been committed.
“We would like to thank the member of the public who made the report in good faith, and would ask anybody who sees anything suspicious to always report it to police.”
