Mercedes car stolen in Hartlepool garage raid may have been spotted in Sunderland and Seaham

The silver Mercedes C200, registration NL15 LPK, was one of 11 cars taken in a break-in at Tones garage in Oxford Road, Hartlepool.
The raid was reported at around 5am yesterday, Sunday May 17 – though police say it may have happened any time after midnight.

Hide AdOne of the cars, a Jaguar, was recovered shortly afterwards from Newholme Estate in Wingate.
Two further vehicles were recovered yesterday morning, and officers confirmed yesterday afternoon that a total of eight vehicles had been traced.
Three vehicles remain outstanding: the Mercedes, a white VW Touareg, registration PN14 FMZ VW Touareg White, and a black Mercedes E220, registration KS67 JVH.
DC Holly Angus said: “This is a report of a significant theft of vehicles worth thousands of pounds. We would appeal to anyone who has any information, including dashcam or CCTV, to contact us on 101, with the reference 078865.”

Hide AdIt is believed the silver Mercedes was in the Seaham and Ryhope areas last night and Cleveland Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of any of the cars to get in touch with via the 101 number. Please quote Ref 78865.
