Carnival ghost train destroyed by fire
A carnival ghost train has been destroyed by fire as it was being transported to a new destination.
Firefighters from three stations were called to Hazard Lane in East Rainton, Houghton-le-Spring after a lorry driver raised the alarm.
He had spotted smoke coming from a trailer used to carry the ghost train as he made his way along the road at 9.40pm, yesterday.

Hide AdThe driver managed to pull over and call for emergency services.
Crews from North Moor, Washington and Hebburn attended.
The trailer measuring 20m by 2m carrying the carnival ghost train was destroyed by the fire.
It is unsure what caused the fire.
