He said: “I have never been more proud of each and every colleague across the trust and thank them all wholeheartedly for their amazing determination and professionalism despite these very difficult circumstances.
“We are in uncharted territory but our teams are working around the clock to ensure that our patients get high quality, compassionate care, whether in our hospitals or out in the community.
“We must not underestimate the devastating impact of coronavirus. Sadly, we continue to see many families affected by the virus, the impact of which is greatly felt by us all across the Trust.

He finished by urging people to keep following the government guidance to stay at home wherever possible and maintain the recommended social distance in order to protect the NHS.
Mr Bremner added: “We will get through this together but many of the people we care for every day have complex, underlying health issues and are, therefore, among those at greatest risk from COVID-19 so it is vitally important that people strictly observe government guidance on social distancing and isolation. This will help protect the NHS and help us save more lives.”
