Test and Trace phone scam warning after reports of fake calls made in Sunderland coronavirus hotspot
Sunderland City Council has issued the warning after receiving reports of the fake phone calls with scammers targeting residents in the Houghton area.

Hide AdThe council is now reminding residents that NHS Test and Trace callers will not ask for passwords, bank account details or pin numbers.
NHS service callers will also not ask residents to make any form of payment or ask them to download anything.
The Test and Trace service works to help identify, contain and reduce the spread of the virus.
People identified as having been in close contact with someone who has a positive test must stay at home for 14 days, even if they do not have symptoms, to stop unknowingly spreading the virus.
